Learning - Quotes

According to Jung, a stranger can see in an instant something in you that you might spend years learning about yourself. [...] How awful we all are when we look at ourselves under a light, finally seeing our reflections. How little we know about ourselves. How much forgiveness it must take to love a person, to choose not to see their flaws, or to see those flaws and love the person anyway. If you never forgive you`ll always be alone.

Learning lessons does not end. There`s no part of life that doesn`t contain its lessons. If you`re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.

Cherie Carter-Scott

Teaching is only demonstrating that it is possible. Learning is making it possible for yourself.

Paulo Coelho

Life is not all about planning and shaping, but about not knowing, and being okay with that. It’s about learning to take the moment that comes and make the best of it, without any idea of what’s going to happen next.

Katrina Kenison

Just as one wouldn`t draw a lasting conclusion about oneself on the basis of a brief experience of indigestion, one needn`t do so on the basis of how one has thought or behaved for vast stretches of time in the past. A creative change of inputs to the system - learning new skills, forming new relationships, adopting new habits of attention - may radically transform one`s life.

Sam Harris

If you trust in yourself... and believe in your dreams... and follow your star... you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.

Terry Pratchett

We live in a society where people are uncomfortable with not knowing. Children aren`t taught to say "I don`t know," and honesty in this form is rarely modeled for them. They too often see adults avoiding questions and fabricating answers, out of either embarrassment or fear, and this comes at a price. When children are embarrassed by or afraid of the feeling of not knowing, they are preoccupied with escaping their discomfort, rather than being motivated to learn. This robs them of the joy of curiosity. Let`s celebrate the feelings of awe and wonder in our children, as the foundation for all learning. Let`s teach children to say "I don`t know" and help them understand the power behind it. Let`s talk to them about how it feels to not know something. And, finally, let`s be honest with children about the limits of our own knowledge.

Annaka Harris

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.

Henry Ford

With every mistake we must surely be learning.

The Beatles

The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

B. B. King

The whole point of growing up is learning to stay on the laughing side.

Lauren Oliver

Education is learning what you didn`t even know you didn`t know.

Daniel J. Boorstin

Learning to let go should be learned before learning to get.

Ray Bradbury
